Meet Your Instructor, Erik Johnson:
Erik Johnson is the Marketing Optimization Manager on Morningstar’s Behavioral Insights Team, where he applies behavioral science principles and experimentation to marketing processes and communications.
The Behavioral Insights Team is a small group of researchers and practitioners who use behavioral science to help Morningstar better serve investors and be more effective as an organization.
Erik previously held roles at ideas42 and IBM and co-created ProductPsychology.com with author Nir Eyal.
He is a board member of the Action Design Network, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization promoting the use of behavioral economics and psychology in policy, business, and product design. He received his BA from Michigan State University.
Schedule:
10:00 – 11:15am: Psychology of Websites – Obviously, optimizers focus on websites a lot. Learn why people spend more time and take more action on some sites than others.
11:15am – 12:30pm: Psychology of Products and Design – Why some seemingly great products never get traction while others become a fixture of people’s lives.
12:30 – 1:30 Lunch break. We can recommend a nearby restaurant to try.
1:30pm – 2:45pm: Psychology of Communication – Communication is at the core of much of what we do as CRO experts. This will cover what makes communication resonate and drive people to take action.
2:45pm – 3:00pm: Psychology of Pricing – This is one of the most fundamental parts of a business, but often one of the least understood. I can cover the surprising ways our brains interpret prices and how it affects our decision making and perception of a business.
